Our hunt for a great watch never sleeps. That’s because we don’t believe in having just one watch. A man can and should have several watches in his arsenal -various colors and textiles will complement and add finesse to a look in different ways. Or simply put, this is a fine looking watch.
We are very happy to introduce you to Henry Blake. This Norwegian watch brand specializes in refined timepieces that have a mid-century appeal that goes with any outfit you could think up. One of the things we love is the minimalist black face, which simply has the numbers three, six and nine on it. It accents an outfit rather than dictating what can be worn with it.
Therein lies its appeal.
The stainless steel butterfly buckle is a nod to a bygone era of watch craftsmanship, but is streamlined and a welcomed departure from the typical fasteners. Add to this a Swiss-made movement, sapphire crystal glass and we’re sold.
The case comes in two sizes -36MM and 40MM and is available in silver and rose gold with the option for classic as well as more daring colors of the leather straps. We’re partial to the silver case and dark brown strap. Somehow the black face, silver and brown strap just work together and are understated here.
If you like the look of Henry Blake, we suggest you consider contributing to their Kickstarter campaign. Early bird contributors can still score one of these watches -and an extra strap- for $235 off their future retail price ($384). Let us know which strap you end up choosing on social media (@leclubdesdouze)!
