Continuing in the vein of fall is here and back to work season, I have been looking for new shoe brands to add some umphf to my everyday outfits. as we’ve been having more meetings now that the summer season is well and truly over here in France. If you follow the blog regularly, you know that I have a weakness for shoes. I attribute it to my family background (my grandfather was a cobbler in Greece) so I think an appreciation of and love for well made shoes is in my genes.
My collection will be getting even bigger now that I’ve discovered Paul Evans NY. I thought I would have to wait until my next trip stateside to order a pair (or two) but I was pleasantly surprised to see that they offer free international shipping on orders over $100!
I had been looking for a brown work shoe for awhile but not seeing the one that stood apart from the norm. My search ended with the Brando in cognac, which is perfectly named as it reminds me of his classic and eternal style (see above). I was also instantly drawn to the Newman Chukka Boot (below). It’s a rich oxblood leather with color gradation making it darker at the toe. I have always had a pair of suede chukkas in my arsenal, but this is next level. The leather makes it more formal but it can still be dressed up or down, which is a good thing, because it’s the kind of boot I would want to wear everyday.
